The pavements construction is based on a base (foundation), once soils are not inert matter, on the contrary they are living matter (they increase and decrease volume with rain and dry weather).

The first steps consist in the cleanup and removal of the topsoil (unsuitable for construction) in order to open a box on the natural ground.

It is in this box that the base or foundation is build.

The base may be constructed as a traditional base with traditional layers of crusher run, gravel and sand.

Also it can be constructed with compacted sand only or with other inert materials wrapped in geotextile fabric to prevent its displacement.

When using our technology of SPW SEMI CONTINUOS CONCRETE if the soil CBR reach the minimum value of 5% or higher it may be not necessary to construct a base.
With our technology of SPW SEMI CONTINUOS CONCRETE the concrete is poured above the base or above compressed natural ground.

However previously the plastic film must be placed, as well as the load steel transfer plates and the joint inductor.

The pavement is constructed in continuous.
