Compared with the traditional solution using Bituminous, the SPWS CONCRETE SLAB-FOUNDATION SYSTEM and the SPWS SEMI CONTINUOS CONCRETE SYSTEM
Bituminous contribute negatively to the ecosystem.
We can herein under appoint some explanatory examples:
Concrete accumulates much less heat than asphalt contributing to lower global warming by reducing the carbon footprint on the ecosystem;
At the end of the project life time of a concrete pavement all materials are recyclable;
Lower fuel consumption either by the difference of equipment for each solution and to the huge reduction in the amount thereof;
Lower greenhouse gas emissions in the construction phase, either by type of equipment either by reduced equipment required when compared either to traditional concrete solutions or to bitumen solutions;
Reduced maintenance, that leads to less use of equipment and associated pollution emissions as e.g. reduction of fuel consumption;
Increased resistance to spills: The concrete pavement is not damaged by oil spills and other spills and is more tight to impregnations in potentially contaminating liquid soil, and the IS.COM solution contains a seepage joint (watertight joints) preventing infiltration of all liquids ;
Lower fuel consumption by vehicles on concrete pavements, since the pavement on which the tires are based does not deform.
